MISSION STATEMENT

The congregation of PVUC adopted a Mission Statement in the late 1980's. As revised in 1993 it now reads: "The Spirit of God and His love are working in our congregation. We want to share these gifts daily with our growing community by proclaiming and teaching the Word, visiting, witnessing and ministering to everyone, including

OUR MESSAGE

  Our message is the gospel or Good News of God's love shown in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. This centuries-old message, however, is communicated in many different ways: through prayer and praise, sermon and song. It is spread by means both old and new: in print, through study groups, on CDs and DVDs

OUR CHURCH LIFE

    Pickering Village United Church is a very active church, with groups for all ages and for a wide range of interests. Throughout the year there are many activities within the church and for the local community. Please browse through our pages to learn about some of the exciting goings-on at PVUC.

CHRISTIAN DEVELOPMENT

There are numerous groups available to children, youth and their families at PVUC. 1ST PICKERING SCOUTS As the name indicates, we are the longest running Scouting group in the region. We have groups for a wide range of ages from Beavers to Rovers.  For more information about Scouting, go to www.scouts.ca        

SUNDAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

About our Sunday School Our Sunday School generally follows the lectionary so their lesson is on topic with the Sunday morning worship service sermon. The lessons are reinforced by crafts, games, stories and activities such as baking or taking part in plays or presentations which are shared with the congregation. Our Grade 7 &

FAMILY EVENTS

FELLOWSHIP LUNCHESFellowship Lunches are held after church usually on the last Sunday of the month during the year, excluding December and the summer months. Games and activities for children are available during and after the lunch. All are welcome! Donations of food and help with setup and cleanup are most appreciated.
